911 director fired; audit requested
Kingfisher County 911 (emergency calling service) Director Patricia Thompson was dismissed from her position Wednesday following an executive session of the board of trustees.
The board also voted to request an audit of the service funds during the special meeting.
The board approved awarding temporary management of the service – up to 180 days – to the Kingfisher County Sheriff’s Office.
An executive session (closed to the public) to discuss the employment of Thompson comprised a majority of the meeting.
Present for the meeting were Police Chief Hank Weber of Hennessey, chairman; Sheriff Dennis Banther of Kingfisher, vice chairman, and Michael Henry, Kyle Bridges and Jim Savage, members.
Members absent were Tony Stewart and Kevin Johnson.
Banther said Thursday he was in the process of writing a letter to the state auditor and inspector’s office to request the audit.
Attempts to contact Thompson for comment were unsuccessful at press time.
