The Kingfisher High School boys track and field team was recognized at the state Capitol Thursday, May 16, for winning the 2019 Class 4A academic state championship. The team was honored on the House floor and Senate gallery by Majority Leader, Rep. Mike Sanders, Sen. Darcy Jech and Sen. Chuck Hall. “These kids not only are champions on the track, but are champions in the classroom and I am so proud of these young men. To have a team GPA of 3.93 is absolutely amazing. I commend Coach Micah Nall and his staff for doing such a great job with the team,” Sanders said. Team members joining Nall and fellow coaches Kerri Lafferty and Jeff Myers were: seniors Reece Lafferty, Stone Snodgrass and Colton York; juniors Kyle Fahlenkamp, Joel Munoz, Riley Myers, McCall Sinclair, Noah Smith, Wes Hine and Jon Henry; sophomores Cason Matthews, Mason Mecklenburg, Aldo Perez, Ben Reherman, Jayden Newkirk and Cade Stephenson; freshmen Brayden States, Eric Patton, Xander Bolner, Braxton Mecklenburg, Gunner Snider, Zane Buck, Ben Erwin, Max Washington and Connor Hine.
