Ad valorem payments slow coming in ; due at end of year

By

Only a small amount of the county’s $47,125,305 ad valorem tax bill had been paid through Thursday, County Treasurer Robin Rother reports.

A total of $4,531 has been received at the county treasurer’s office since tax rolls opened for payment in mid-November.

Deadline to pay at least one-half of the ad valorem tax without penalty is Dec. 30. The bill from the treasurer’s office states that tax becomes delinquent Dec. 31st if not paid in full or at least half. A late penalty of 1.5% per month is required on unpaid taxes.

A majority of ad valorem tax goes to county schools.

A note on tax bills reads: Pay online @www.oktaxrolls. com. Online payments must be submitted by Dec. 31st.
