Akenhead hosts Farmerettes’ April meeting
The Hennessey Farmerettes met in the home of Jamie Akenhead for the group’s April meeting with nine members and two guests present.
President Dot Miller opened the meeting and the pledge was given to the American flag. The devotion “A Good Day” was given by Mary Curry.
Two guests, Ruth Ann Hobbs and Paula Nicholson, were introduced.
The minutes of the March meeting were read and the treasurer’s report was given.
Roll call was answered by those present telling of their favorite healthy and cheap meal.
Reports were presented by those attending the North Regional meeting.
Miller shared news items from the recent Extension newsletter.
The group decided to honor Billie Melendy at the Red Carpet Honor Night in Hennessey.
Maxine Helgeson will serve as hostess and lesson leader at the May meeting. The theme for the June meeting is “bring a friend,” which will be a salad luncheon held Thursday, June 8, at Hennessey First Christian Church.
Paula Nicholson shared ideas and upcoming plans for the Kingfisher County Extension groups and others.
The meeting was adjourned and an informative lesson was presented by Akenhead with all those in the group participating.
The quarter drill was won by Nicholson.
Cake and ice cream, as well as other snacks, were provided.
