Altrua Club holds January meeting

The Altrua Club met Jan. 15 at the Chisholm Trail Museum.

President Cheryl Wheelbarger conducted the meeting and Dana Golbek served as hostess.

Members present were Carolyn Flood, Martha Burditt, Golbek, Terri Peck, Sue Robinson, Keri Bivins, Jneanne Kadavy, Jeanette Kloeppel, Jowanna Sisk, Julie Storm, Wheelbarger and Dorothy Whitaker.

Museum director Jason Harris gave the updates on the museum renovations and upcoming events.

Bids for the renovations will be in mid-March and donations are being accepted to do the renovations.

Two photo exhibits are scheduled including “Photographing the Plains” and “Wanted Dead or Alive.”

The program was presented by David Smith and Chuck Countryman from the Kingfisher County Sheriff’s Office.

They talked about the increase in tax-related scams at this time of year. They also gave members some tips about protecting their identity and personal information.

The next meeting will be Feb. 19 at the museum with Cheryl Wheelbarger serving as hostess and providing the program.
