Annual Legion service slated

The Keith Lowry-Henry Ellyson Post 5 of The American Legion will present its annual Memorial Day Service at 11 a.m. Monday, May 31, at Kingfisher Cemetery, Commander Joe Bliss announced.

Bliss will serve as emcee and speaker for the event.

John Hopkins will be the chaplain and the Vocal Sounds of Oklahoma will present a variety of patriotic songs.

Kenneth Tollison will command the post’s firing squad, which honors departed comrades.

“Post 5 is excited to have a full Memorial Day service,” Bliss said.

Post members will also be placing flags on veterans’ graves beginning at 7 a.m. Saturday, May 29.

“We would welcome any help,” Bliss added.
