Apparently self-inflicted gun death investigated
A 32-year-old Kingfisher woman died Jan. 18 from an apparently self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head at her residence, according to a Kingfisher Police Department report.
Estefania Rodriguez-Ramos, 810 Aspen Dr., Kingfisher, was declared dead about 5 p.m. after she was transported to a hospital by ambulance, according to the report written by KPD Officer Chod Trout.
Keven Boley, 43, called 911 about 11:53 a.m. to report the incident after he heard a gunshot go off and then heard Rodriguez-Ramos’ husband, Joshua New-berry, 43, screaming, according to the report.
Boley told authorities that he lives in the residence along with Rodriguez-Ramos and Newberry and both Newberry and Boley work nights on a local pipeline.
When police arrived at the residence, Kingfisher EMS workers were on the scene attempting to stabilize the gunshot victim before transporting her to the hospital, where she later died, according to the report.
Police interviewed New-berry, Boley and Boley’s wife Brandi, 40, all of whom reported that Rodriguez-Ramos had been depressed for several months and had developed an eating disorder, according to the report.
Brandi Boley also told police that Rodriguez-Ramos had talked about killing herself around Christmas time, but appeared to be doing better recently.
Police collected a Glock handgun from the scene and a spent shell casing in the bathtub, along with two notes allegedly written by the victim, one addressed to her husband and the other written in Spanish and addressed to her parents, according to the police report.
Trout was assisted at the scene by Offi cer Richard Staton, Sgt. Justin Trumbley and Capt. Travis Gray.
