April sales tax checks higher for majority of county towns
The April distribution of sales tax collections for Kingfisher municipalities were higher for four – Kingfi sher, Loyal, Cashion and Okarche.
The receipts for Hennessey and Dover were down by less than 1%.
The taxes, collected by the Oklahoma Tax Commission and returned to local entities, primarily represents local tax receipts from February business.
Companies that remit more than $2,500 monthly in sales tax receipts are required to file and pay electronically.
The monies they reported this period represent sales from Feb. 16 to 28 and estimated sales from March 1 to 15.
The disbursement of $186,494,441 in sales tax collections returned to the cities and towns reflected an increase of $6,294,530 from the $192,788,971 distributed to them in April last year.
The use tax disbursement to cities and towns was $34,861,912.
In county returns, the counties shared in a $30,952,544 sales tax disbursement and $6,697,319 in a use tax disbursement.
Use tax (that collected on purchases out-of-state for delivery in-state) comparisons this April, listed first and last were reported for county municipalities as follow: Cashion - $15,174.32 and $9,357.16.
Dover – $2,136.96 and $1,929.99.
Hennessey - 19,428.42 and 11,380.83 Kingfisher – $51,914.19 and $46,839.80.
Okarche – $23,137.71 and $18,532.58
