Baby’s death leads to daycare inquiry

By

The death of a 6-month-old boy with local ties last week has led to the investigation of a Warr Acres daycare center.

Liam Farrar, the son of Daniel and Alyssa Farrar of Piedmont, died Wednesday at OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City, where he had been hospitalized since Feb. 21.

The baby was reported to be unresponsive when he was rushed to the hospital from a home daycare located at 7204 N. Norman Road, Warr Acres.

According to online reports, the daycare center’s operating license had been revoked by the state Department of Human Services in December, but was allowed to continue operating while the revocation was under appeal.

The cause of death will be determined by the state medical examiner’s office.

Daniel Farrar is a 2008 graduate of Kingfisher High School.

An online GoFundMe account entitled “Liam Strong” is accepting donations to help the family with medical and other expenses.
