Barnett, Storm earn OBU scholarships
Two Kingfisher residents were recently awarded academic scholarships by Oklahoma Baptist University for the 2020-21 academic year.
They include Emma Barnett and Lydia Storm.
Barnett and Storm received the Trustees’ Academic Scholarship. Presented in recognition of academic achievement, the Trustees’ Academic Scholarship is an annual $12,000 scholarship which can be renewed for three additional years, making the honor worth a potential of $48,000.
A senior at Kingfisher High School, Barnett is the daughter of Fay and Tiffanie Barnett.
She is a member of National Honor Society and Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
She is also involved in student council. She currently plans to pursue a college degree in biology.
Barnett is a member of Life Church Edmond.
Storm is a homeschooled senior and the daughter of Carl and Carrie Storm.
She currently plans to pursue a college degree in art.
Storm is a member of First Baptist Church Kingfisher.
Dr. Heath Thomas, OBU president, presented a certificate of recognition to each 2020 academic scholarship recipient during a recent ceremony on OBU’s campus in Shawnee.
