Barnett, Vallerand earn FCA All-State
Kingfisher County pair among statewide group honored during online ceremony
Two Kingfisher County student-athletes were recently named Fellowship of Christian Athletes All-State in Oklahoma.
Announced as recipients during an online presentation over the weekend were Emma Barnett of Kingfisher and Jaxon Vallerand of Okarche.
The two would have been honored at the 46th annual FCA Honors Banquet, but the event was canceled due to COVID-19.
The FCA All-State award was established to recognize achievement in the classroom and on the athletic fields and courts while being involved in their local FCA organization.
Barnett is the daughter of Fay and Tiffanie Barnett.
She’s been in FCA all four years of high school and has been inducted into the National Honor Society and listed on the superintendent’s honor roll.
She is also a class valedictorian.
Barnett played soccer four years and was a threetime All-American cheerleader.
She will attend and be a cheerleader at Oklahoma Baptist University.
Vallerand is the son of Tanya Vallerand and the late David Vallerand.
He’s also a four-year member of the FCA and has been inducted into the National Honor Society
He’s been active in Beta Club and FCCLA and has been listed on the principal’s honor roll, all while playing baseball for four years.
Vallerand plans to attend the University of Central Oklahoma.
FCA All-State honorees are all high school seniors who were nominated by their local sponsor.
