Pvt. William J. Baxter, the son of Tammy and Gary Baxter of Kingfisher, graduated May 10 from a 13-week basic training in the U.S. Marine Corps in San Diego, Calif.

A Kingfisher native, Baxter is the grandson of Michael and Norma Morrison, also of Kingfisher.

He is attended Kingfisher Public Schools and is a 2018 graduate of Epic Charter School.

Baxter is now completing additional training before being sent to his first post.
