Candidate forum this Thursday
Local voters will have the opportunity to meet the candidates behind some of the names that will appear on upcoming ballots at a free forum at 6 p.m. Thursday at the Kingfisher Heritage School auditorium.
Sponsored by Kingfisher County Republican Women, the event will include the two candidates vying to replace Rep. Mike Sanders, who is completing his last term representing House District 59 in the State Legislature.
With no Democrats filing, the race will be decided in the June 30 Republican primary election. Also included will be candidates
Also included will be candidates in the Kingfisher municipal election for mayor and commissioner, which were postponed to June 30 when the April election was canceled due to coronavirus concerns.
Candidates slated to speak at the forum include:
State Representative (HD 59) – Adam Masters of Kingfisher and Mike Dobrinski of Okeene.
Kingfisher Mayor – Roxie Alexander and Joy Ludwig. The winner of this race will succeed current Mayor Steve Richards.
Kingfisher City Commissioner– Richard Ray Reynolds and Kyle Mecklenburg. Winner of this election will succeed current commissioner Tammy Mueggenborg.
