Cashion FFA wraps up 2019-20 with virtual banquet

The Cashion FFA Chapter recently wrapped up the 2019-2020 school year with a virtual FFA Banquet.

Due to the COVID-19 school closing, our end-of-year chapter activities had to be canceled or be held virtually.

A slide presentation was created showcasing the award winners and a presentation of pictures from the FFA members’ activities.

The presentation was posted on the Cashion FFA Facebook page.

An awards presentation will be scheduled once school is back in session.

The following awards will be presented:

Top Salesman Award (Fall): Kenzie Isom

Top Salesman Award (Spring): Jayden Wells

Proficiency Awards

Agricultural Communications: Ryann Ball

Agricultural Education: Wyatt Collins

Agricultural Mechanics Design and Fabrication: Nathaniel Bronaugh

Agricultural Mechanics Repair and Maintenance: Jake Wilkerson

Beef Production: Tyndal Fields

Diversified Livestock Production: Ryann Ball

Sheep Production: Saron Gentry

Swine Production: Ryann Ball

Scholastic awards were awarded to students who maintained an “A” average in their agricultural education class.

Awards were given for members’ participation on the following CDE teams: Opening and Closing Ceremonies, Livestock Judging, Sporting Clays, Meat Judging, Farm Shop and Archery.

Leadership Award: Wyatt Collins

Citizenship Award: Derek Sheline

Sportsmanship Award: Cathleen Hamil

Workhorse Award: Jake Wilkerson

Awards were given for the Chapter, Greenhand and Discovery FFA degrees.

Honorary FFA Degree was awarded to Lane Broadbent and Patrick Bronaugh.

Star Greenhand Awards went to Wyatt Collins, Tyndal Fields and Saron Gentry.

Ryann Ball was awarded the Chapter Star Farmer.

Star Placement Award was given to Nathaniel Bronaugh.

Outstanding Eighth Grade member was awarded to the following: Derek Sheline, Kendra Bryant, Grayson Stewart and Cathleen Hamil.

Wyatt Collins was awarded the “And Then Some” Award for having the most FFA and participation points for the 2019-2020 school year.

The following were selected as FFA officers for the 2020-2021 school year:

Vice President – Tyndal Fields

Secretary – Wyatt Collins

Treasurer – Derek Sheline

Reporter – Ryann Ball

Sentinel – Jayce Evans

Parliamentarian – Grayson Stewart

Historian – Kendra Bryant

Cashion FFA sophomore, Ryann Ball, was selected as the Chapter Star Farmer. Ball has a diversified livestock program as well as growing vegetables.

Ball has served as the chapter reporter, handling the chapter’s FFA newsletters and publications.

Nathaniel Bronaugh, Cashion FFA junior, was selected the Chapter Star Placement Award winner.

Bronaugh has used the mechanics skills learned in class to work for local farmers. In addition, he designs and fabricates projects to be purchased.
