Cashion group claims chess state title
The Cashion High School chess team won the Oklahoma Scholastic Chess Organization’s state championship held March 7 at Carl Albert High School. Pictured are, from left, Connor McCabe, sponsor Vernon Richards, Jayden Collier, Guiliani Martinez, Abe Ross and Jahmad James. The group had 14 individual wins on the day to bring home the state title. There are no classifications in the OSCO, so Cashion’s wins came against schools of all sizes across Oklahoma.
