Chamber Banquet plans announced

By

The Kingfisher Chamber of Commerce is moving forward with its plans to hold its annual member banquet, March 8.

The event will be held at the fairgrounds. CDC guidelines will be observed with tables spaced further apart.

Kingfisher native and retired professional football player Curtis Lofton is scheduled as this year’s keynote speaker.

Any organization or business interested in decorating a table is asked to contact the chamber office as soon as possible.

Those attending the event in person are encouraged to wear a mask, but masks won’t be required, Chamber Manager Shauna said.

“We will be providing cash prizes for the best decorated mask,” she said.

This year, a “virtual” ticket will be added with the assistance of Times Sc Free Press managing editor and local sports broadcaster Michael Swisher, who will be broadcasting the banquet live on his webpage, kingfishersports. tv.

The Chamber hopes offering a digital viewing option will ease concerns to many who want to participate but would rather not attend an in-person event at this time.

The volunteer of the year and citizen of the year awards will be presented as usual.

Nominations are being accepted and canbe emailed to chamber@kingfisher-chamber.com, or call the chamber for details.

The networking hour has been shortened this year. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m. and the banquet will begin at 6:00. A light meal will be served, rather than a traditional buffet-style meal.

Due to limited seating, in-person attendance is limited to chamber members, who must RSVP by calling the chamber or visiting the event page online at https://www. kingfisher.oreevents/.
