Changes for first Jacket home game
Kingfisher High School will host its home opener for football this Friday and there are a number of details of which fans should be aware.
The Jackets will play Weatherford at 7:30 p.m. in a non-district game for both teams.
Kingfisher is 1-0 after last week’s 54-6 win at Alva while this is the season-opener for Weatherford, which was last season’s Class 4A state runner-up.
Here are some changes to be aware of leading up to the game:
With the uncertainty of a complete season constantly in place, the game has been designated as “Senior Night,” which is usually reserved for the final home game of the season.
Senior football players, managers, cheerleaders and band members – along with their parents – will be recognized in a ceremony at approximately 7 p.m.
Parking Changes
The construction of the new seventh and eighth grade center means the parking lot on the east side of the football stadium (south of the APB) is no longer available for use.
Visiting fans – and any home fans – who generally parked there are instructed to now park in the new high school parking area, which is west of the high school.
The entrance for that lot is on the south side of the high school off of 13th Street.
There will be an admission gate in the northwest corner of the new parking lot (between the Donovan Boutwell Center and the visitors’ dressing room).
COVID-19 Protocols
It is recommended that anyone attending the game wear a face mask.
Spectators are advised to follow social distancing guidelines wherever possible.
Families who attend games together are allowed to sit together, but it’s requested to allow six feet of social distance between those groups/ families.
Concessions will be available, but it will be a limited menu of drinks and pre-packaged snacks.
Kingfisher Public Schools has no current plan to limit spectators at events unless conditions warrant that move.
All KHS football games are also broadcast live on www.kingfishersports.tv.
