Chisholm Trail Museum Traditional Trade Days

By

Chisholm Trail Museum held its Traditional Trade Days Saturday, Aug. 31, in Kingfisher. Activities included 19th century photography, blacksmithing, leather work, dressmaking, wood working and carpentry, cooking demonstrations, branding and roping, laundry, spinning, weaving, lacemaking, and flintknapping. Pictured are some of the scenes from the day, clockwise from top left: Preston Ware of the Oklahoma Historical Society demonstrates woodworking; Doug Davis, a museum board member, demonstrates leather work; Maggie Harris, daughter of museum director Jason Harris, demonstrating how laundry was cleaned. The museum will host the program again in August 2020. [Photos provided]
