City Strives to Ease Stress
The city of Kingfisher wants to be a source of information and assistance, not additional stress, during the ongoing pandemic, City Manager Dave Slezickey said. That goal has developed into programs such as the city resource line, a special phone number (405)375-5500 and email (info@kingfisher.org) designed to match local needs with available services and the purchase, a weekly informational newspaper page and purchase of 2,000 cloth masks from a local company which were distributed last week by city employees. “I see our role as being able to help out and support our community as best we can, supplying information to prevent panic and doing what we can to provide the level of service our citizens and community deserve,” said Slezickey, who spent part of the day Wednesday and Friday handing out masks.
