Collapsed sewer line forces emergency meeting
Hennessey board sets aside $10,000 for repairs
Hennessey’s town board voted to spend up to $10,000 to make repairs on a collapsed sewer line at Fourth and Main street near the funeral home.
Members took the action in an emergency meeting the morning of Wednesday, Sept. 23, at Town Hall.
The quote from Luckinbill Plumbing, Enid, was $7,359, but the board wants Luckinbill to check out the line north to the next manhole on Third Street, Clerk Kati Walters told The Times & Free Press Thursday afternoon.
Work had not started as of Thursday, Walters said.
Luckinbill had not provided an amended quote for the extra work, she said.
Wastewater Superintendent Bryan Burch attended the meeting, as did all board members: Mayor Bert Gritz, Vice Mayor Clif Vogt, Wes Hardin, Keith Meek and Richard Simunek.
Walters was not at the emergency meeting but minutes were taken by Shelley Burch, assistant clerk. Administrator Tiffany Tillman, who notified the KT&FP about the meeting Tuesday afternoon, was also not at the meeting.
