Kingfisher High School junior Cora Taylor was named Kingfi sher County Distinguished Young Woman 2021 at the 53rd annual scholarship program Saturday night.

Taylor, the daughter of Kevin and Elizabeth Taylor, collected a total of $1,600 in scholarships, winning the $300 scholastic achievement, interview and self-expression awards in addition to the $700 title.

Jayden Wells of Cashion, the daughter of Kenneth and Tammie Wells and Shauna and Josh Scheihing, was named runner up.

She earned $300 each for the talent and spirit awards in addition to $400 for the runner up title.

Wells’ award-winning talent was a recitation.

Other $300 individual award winners included Kari Shepard, fi tness, and Kara Murray, Be Your Best Self.

Both of Kingfi sher, Shepard is the daughter of Jamie and Sharon Shepard and Murray is the daughter of Billy and Sandy Murray.

Mike Brown and Kaci Farrar, both of Kingfi sher, served as program emcees.
