County accepts road bids
Kingfisher County commissioners accepted bids for road materials and contract services as tabulated by staff from lowest to highest Monday.
The process allows commissioners to figure in transportation costs to determine the lowest bid based on the area where they are working.
Two access drive requests in the vicinity immediately north of Cashion where a housing addition is under development also received unanimous approval on motion of District 1 Commissioner Jeff Moss.
The public service access drive requests from Blue Ribbon Construction were approved at points 1,000 to 1,200 feet west of Euclid on EW County Road 830.
McDonald Land Services received permits for road crossings for 12-inch and 16-inch permanent water lines at two locations, one four miles north of Okarche and the other four miles north and one mile east of Okarche, both in District 3.
District 3 Commissioner Heath Dobrovolny’s motion to approve the permits were approved unanimously.
District 2 Commissioner Ray Alan Shimanek moved for approval of a road crossing for a water line two miles south and four miles east of Hennessey. It also received unanimous approval.
Also present for the meeting were County Clerk Jeannie Boevers who served as minute clerk, County Engineer Nik Smith, Pipeline Inspector Cody Murray and Kingfisher City-County Emergency Management Director Steve Loftis who reported on coronavirus cases in the county – no new cases. Only 11 cases have been identified in the county, all but one recovered.
The county courthouse is open for business with some precautions, as are most county businesses.
