County board reorganizes for 2020
Shimanek elected chairman, Dobrovolny is vice chairman
Kingfisher County commissioners elected Ray Alan Shimanek as chairman and Heath Dobrovolny as vice chairman for the 2020 calendar year Monday at their final meeting of 2019.
Jeff Moss, the 2019 chairman will move to the member position, following the established pattern of rotating the leadership posts.
Although both Shimanek and Dobrovolny made simultaneous motions to re-elect Moss to the chairmanship, Moss gaveled the meeting to order and made the motion for Shimanek to become the new chairman and Dobrovolny vice chairman, positions they accepted good-naturedly.
The chairman of the board receives no increase in pay but does have several added responsibilities.
The rotation of offi ces will occur at next Monday’s meeting.
This week’s meeting was only six-minutes long, involving only the approval of the preceding week’s minutes, purchase orders and payroll and seven pipeline road crossing permits in District 3.
The pipeline permits included:
• Markwest Energy permanent four-inch steel oil line located four miles west and and three miles south of Kingfi sher, and,
• Encana – six 90-day 12-inch water lines located as follow: three miles east and six miles south of Omega, four miles north and five miles west of Okarche, three miles west and three miles south of Kingfisher, eight miles west of Okarche, three miles north and three miles west of Okarche and four miles north and one mile west of Okarche
