County buys road grader, truck
Kingfisher County commissioners approved two purchases, several requests for county road access drives, denying one, and acceptance of a $90,000 REAP grant through NODA Monday at their weekly meeting.
Commissioners approved purchase of a John Deere road grader for District 1 at a bid price of $205,000 from Cummins Equipment and a Mack truck for District 2 at a price of $125,481 from Bruckner Truck Sales on the state contract.
Cummins Equipment’s road grader bid was middle price bid of three submitted but was determined by District 1 Commissioner Jeff Moss to be the best bid considering all factors. Other bidders were Kirby Smith Equipment $179,500 and Yellow House Equipment, $250,607.
The grader bids were on a 2016 or newer diesel unit with 2,600 hours or less, a minimum of one-year warranty and serviced and ready to operate.
Mike Frey, representative of Rural Water District No.3, explained improvements planned for the district using the REAP grant.
Addition of Marci Johnson as receiving offi cer for the Kingfisher OSU Extension Office, replacing Michelle Helm, who has accepted other employment and the removal of Michelle Conner as receiving offi cial for the county assessor’s office received approval on motion of District 2 Commissioner Ray Alan Shimanek and second by District 3 Commissioner Heath Dobrovolny. Moss joined them in making all actions unanimous.
Road crossing permit request approvals included the following:
• Encana – two three-inch temporary lines in District 3, one located eight miles west and one mile south of Kingfisher and one located nine miles west and one mile south of Kingfi sher.
McDonald Land Services – three locations for 16-inch and 12-inch fresh water lines in District 3 as follow: four miles north and one mile west of Okarche, two miles west and four miles north of Okarche and four miles west and four miles north of Okarche.
• Bluestem Pipeline – 25 16-inch steel gas lines, seventeen located in District 3, including 16 extending from one mile north and six miles east of Omega and ending four miles east and two miles north of Loyal, and one located fi ve miles east and four miles south of Omega, and seven in District 2 beginning four miles north and and eight miles west of Dover and ending eight miles west and two miles north of Hennessey.
Commissioners acted on four access drive applications, denying one for Chesapeake Operating in District 1 proposed 1,100 feet west of the intersection of U.S. 81 and Lemon Road, and approving three others as follow: east about 2,300 feet of the EW Road 650 and NS 2910 intersection, District 2, for Chesapeake; east 690 feet on EW 690 Road, District 2, also for Chesapeake; one for One-OK Gas Transportation in District 3 located fi ve miles south of Omega on Calumet Blacktop.
