County fair still planned

Modifications listed

By

Even though the Oklahoma City State Fair has been canceled, the Kingfisher County Fair will continue as scheduled on Aug. 26-29, with modifications.

“Unless the situation changes between now and then, we believe we have a plan that will allow our fair to still happen while keeping everyone as safe as possible,” Bryan Kennedy, Kingfisher County OSU Extension director, said.

Changes adopted to reduce the risk of Coronavirus spread include the following:

• All inside exhibits must be dropped off from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 26, only. No drop offs will be allowed on Thursday.

•Exhibits must be pretagged with Division, Class Name and Town before they are dropped off to limit the amount of time spent in the building. Tags and fair books are available at the Kingfisher County Extension Office in the courthouse annex.

•All judging will be closed to the public and the Exhibit Building will not open to the public until 4 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 27.

•Masks and social distancing will be required inside the Exhibit Building and the number of people inside at any one time will be limited.

•Because it is a more open space, mask usage inside the MaCenter is not required, but still strongly urged, along with social distancing. •Farmhand Olympics

•Farmhand Olympics has been canceled for this year and booth rentals will not be available.

If you have any questions please feel free to contact the Kingfisher County OSU Extension Office at (405)375-3822.
