County gets soaking but dodges wintry mix
A steady rain beginning Tuesday night soaked Kingfisher County.
Rainfall amounts ranged from two inches at Cashion Grain and Feed to 1.3 inches at CHS Elevator in Okarche and at the Harold Ebers residence near Hennessey to .75 inch at Dover.
Snow was reported at the Okarche Grain and Feed Elevator but did not stick to the ground.
Ice formed on auto windshields in Kingfisher but quickly melted.
Area fields had water standing in them Tuesday afternoon as a result of the day-long precipitation that was consistent rather than heavy and creeks rose due to runoff. There was no flooding.
Area small grain crops have continued growing during the winter months due to the, as yet, mild temperatures and ample moisture.
