County OKs new Cashion housing addition

Kingfisher County commissioners approved the plat of Cashion Estates at their weekly meeting Monday.

The housing development planned one mile north of present Cashion town limits will contain 90 residential lots, according to the plat signed by commissioners.

Commission Chairman Jeff Moss produced a letter from developers stating that no financial involvement will be required from the county; developers will foot all the cost of bringing utilities to the addition.

The site lays north of EW 830 Road west of S.H. 74F.

Commissioners tabled action on the purchase of two wildland fire fighting units for the Omega Fire Department, awaiting approval by the district attorney’s office, bids on the conversion of a military vehicle into a heavy brush truck for the Loyal Fire Department to allow study and the sale of a surplus 2003 Chevrolet 3500 fire truck belonging to Loyal Fire Department on which no bids were received.

Bids received on the Loyal brush truck conversion included: $90,142.25 from Northwest Fabrication, $112,750 from Steel and Fire, $168,000 from Hughes Fabrication and $181,000 from J and J Construction.

Loyal Fire Chief Richard Meyer requested a one-week delay on approving a contract to allow adequate time to review the bids to assure they met specifications.

Commissioners approved a contract with Railroad Yard of Stillwater to provide materials at a cost of $87,475 and a bid of $142,000 from RRY Services to provide labor to construct a bridge over Uncle John Creek on Duffy Road.

Bids were opened a week prior but tabled to allow time for study by Engineer Nik Smith.

Commissioners approved the low bid of Vance Brothers Paving to provide chip-and seal roadwork in all three districts in 2019.

Other items approved included election board and district attorney claims for state reimbursement for February and a resolution to dispose of items from the sheriff’s office, which were listed as surplus at last week’s meeting.

Commissioners approved pipeline road crossing permits for the following:

• Charles Morrow – 10-inch water line two miles north and four miles west of Loyal, District 3.

• Stroh Brothers Partnership – 16-inch permanent water line one mile west and one mile north of Okarche, District 3.

• Tetra Technologies – 12-inch line seven miles east of Dover, District 2.

• Complete Energy Services – 12-inch line starting in NW SW of 1-17-6 and ending in SE SW 23-18-6, District 2.

• McDonald Land Services – 13 water lines in District 3 located as follow: 12-inch line four miles east and two miles south of Loyal, three-inch line seven miles west and two miles north of Loyal, two 12-inch lines six miles south and two miles east of Loyal, 10-inch line two miles east of Omega, 10-inch line one mile south and one mile east of Omega, 12-inch line seven miles west and two miles south of Kingfisher, 12-inch line two miles east and one mile north of Omega, 12-inch line five miles east and two miles north of Omega, 12-inch line four miles east of Omega, two 10-inch lines three miles east of Omega and 12-inch line located two miles north and two miles east of Omega,

• Chisholm Oil and Gas Operating – five lines in District 1 - two 10-inch lines and one 12-inch line located 12 miles east and three miles south of the U.S 81/ Dover-Crescent Highway intersection, and three 12-inch lines and two 10-inch lines located 10 miles east and four miles south of 81-DC intersection.
