County Oks payment for 8 bridge inspections

Kingfisher County commissioners approved payment Monday of a $2,025.50 invoice from Circuit Engineering District 8 for eight bridge inspections in Districts 2 and 3.

The annual bridge inspections are required by state law to maintain safety of county bridges.

Donnie Head, CED 8 program manager, attended the meeting in support of the invoice.

CED 8 certified the bridges safe for travel. Commissioners are notified of deficiencies, if any, as well as recommendations for corrective procedures as needed.

The inspections also provide requiring load posting requirements and closing when necessary.

Detailed reports and requirements are provided to county commissioners.

Commissioners approved contracts with two detention centers for youthful detainees as needed, the Sac and Fox Nation and Tulsa County and one with the Tulsa County Juvenile Detention Center. Juvenile detainees can

Road right-of way approvals were granted to the following:

• Gateway Land Services for two sites, one for a sixinch buried salt water line located three miles north and one mile east of Hennessey, and the second for a buried eight-inch line two miles north and one mile east of Hennessey, District 2, and,

• Oklahoma Gas and Electric – service at the north side of Dover.

• Public Service Access for Thomas Elizondo at Northeast Corner of NW4 9-15-7 at WEFC switch station – .2 mile west of U.S. 81 on EW 840 Road.

Commissioners also approved letter of support for the Oklahoma State Department of Health for a federal grant for reimbursement for the health workers taking part in the COVID response effort when vaccinations were provided for most vulnerable citizens earlier in the year.

Commission Chairman Heath Dobrovolny announced that he would attend an ACCO meeting in Oklahoma City Tuesday regarding details of the federal American Rescue Plan, which is designed to fund local government efforts to fight the COVID-19 pandemic.

He also will represent the county Wednesday at the ACCO insurance board meeting, also in Oklahoma City.
