County OKs radio tower bid

By

The low bid of $30,494 to build a 100-foot radio tower at the new sheriff’s office-jail at the south edge of Kingfisher got the nod from Kingfisher County commissioners Monday.

Sheriff Dennis Banther recommended accepting the low bid from Chickasaw Personal Communications after determining the bid met specifications. The Chickasaw bid was a little over half of the next two bids submitted.

Commissioners opened three bids on the project at the preceding week’s meeting but tabled action on them to allow Banther time to review them.

Other bidders and their bids were Bearcom, $57,196, and Allstate Tower, $57,908.

In other action, commissioners approved coverages in the county’s health insurance plan for the 2021 fiscal year, approved Anthony Schwarz as requesting officer and Max Rother as receiving officer for District 3, a right-of-way agreement on a bridge over Turkey Creek, southwest of Hennessey (JP28439), public access drives for McDonald Land Service, Midship Pipeline Co. and Overflow Energy Stack in District 3 and permits for pipelines to cross county roads for the following:

• Oklahoma Natural Gas Co. – 4.5 inch steel line one mile south of Dover, District 2.

• Encana –16-inch and 12- inch water lines six miles east and two miles south of Omega, 12-inch water line seven miles east and three miles south of Omega and three-inch poly line two miles south of Loyal, District 3.

• Petro Land Services – two four-inch lines in District 1, one located 10 miles east and one mile north of the Dover-Crescent/U.S. 81 intersection and one seven miles east and three miles north of Kingfisher.

• McDonald Land Services – 12-inch water line two miles east and two miles north of Omega, District 3.

• Complete Energy Services – 12-inch water line three miles south of Hennessey, District 2.

• Oklahoma Gas & Electric Co. – two power lines in District 3, located three miles north and three miles west of Okarche and three miles north and two miles west of Okarche.

Commissioners Ray Alan Shimanek, (District 2), chairman, Jeff Moss, (District 1), and Heath Dobrovolny, (District 3), were present for the meeting, along with County Clerk Jeannie Boevers as minute clerk, County Engineer Nik Smith, Pipeline Inspector Cody Murray, Monty Taylor of Dover and Alex Wilson of Bearcom.
