County OKs vendor bids
Kingfisher County commissioners approved purchase bids from several vendors and a request from Big 4 Fire Department to purchase a tract of land adjacent to the fire department building at their weekly meeting Monday.
Big 4 Fire Chief Joey Maschino requested action on the land purchase to meet a purchase deadline.
Chairman Jeff Moss said the district attorney’s office had reviewed the proposition and approved it and District 2 Commissioner Ray Alan Shimanek made the motion to approve the $5,000 purchase.
Commissioners approved the bid of Vance Brothers Paving to apply oil and chips to black-topped county roads this year. Vance was the low bidder on each segment of the proposal.
Circle C Paving was slightly higher on each category.
Vance Brothers’ bid per mile of single coat 5/8th-inch-rock using CRS-2 oil totaled 18,457.01 compared to Circle C’s bid of $21,812.83 and its bid on a single coat of three-eighth-inch rock with CRS-2 oil was $16,908.17 compared to $19,231.43 submitted by Circle C.
District 3 Commissioner Heath Dobrovolny made the motion to accept the Vance bid, which was approved unanimously.
