County opens 35 bids for road, bridge materials for next six months

Kingfisher County commissioners opened 35 six-month bids on road and bridge materials and services at their regular weekly meeting Monday.

District 3 Commissioner Heath Dobrovolny moved to table action on the bids to give staff time to tabulate the bids, lowest to highest. District 2 Commissioner Ray Alan Shimanek and District 1 Commissioner Jeff Moss joined Dobrovolny in approving tabling action until a future meeting.

Commissioners also approved a schedule of meetings for the 2020 year on the same basis as followed this year – at 9 a.m. each Monday except when that day falls on a holiday. In that case the weekly meeting will be held on the next working day.

Commissioners also approved a schedule of holidays for the coming year: New Year’s, Jan. 1; Martin Luther King Day, Jan. 20; President’s Day, Feb. 17; Easter, April 10; Memorial Day, May 25; Independence Day, Saturday, July 4, courthouse will close on Friday, July 3; Labor Day, Sept. 7; Columbus Day, Oct. 12; Veteran’s Day, Nov. 11; Thanksgiving, Nov. 26-27; Christmas, Dec. 24-25.

Commissioners approved county road pipeline crossing permits for the following:

• Petrol Land Services –permanent four-inch line at the edge of Dover, District 2.

• Cimarron Electric Cooperative – two lines eight miles west and one mile south of Hennessey, District 2.

• Select Energy Services – three lines: a three-inch poly line 17 miles west and one mile south of Kingfisher, District 3; 12-inch water line starting fi ve miles north of Kingfi sher, District 1, and 12-inch water line located one mile south and one mile east of Hennessey, District 2.

Also present for the meeting were County Clerk Jeannie Boevers, who served as minute clerk; County Pipeline Inspector Cody Murray; Sheriff Dennis Banther, and Raylene Somerlett of Oklahoma Emergency Management.
