County pays 78 percent of ad val tax
Kingfisher County property owners paid 77.637 percent of their ad valorem tax by April 1, the deadline to pay 2018 second-half tax bills without penalty.
County Treasurer Robin Rother reported receipts of $25,794,285.37 as of Monday.
Delinquent tax will draw a penalty of 1.5 percent per month until paid, under state law.
The county’s total ad valorem tax bill for 2018 totaled $33,224,417.87.
The entire amount was due by Dec. 31 but property owners who elected to do so could pay one-half their total bill by Dec. 31 and delay the second half payment until April 1 without penalty.
Any tax now unpaid is delinquent and subject to penalty.
