County seeks bids for sheriff radio tower, election ballots

Kingfisher County commissioners approved solicitations for bids on a 100-foot radio tower for the sheriff’s department and an election ballot printing contract at their meeting Monday.

They also denied a request from OG&E for a permit for a pole in District 3 on the motion of District 3 Commissioner Heath Dobrovolny, who said a pole was set in a borrow ditch before a permit was requested and the company has made no indication it plans to reset it.

Additionally, they approved three road crossing permits for 90-day water line permits in District 3 for Encana Energy, four permits for gas lines for Markwest Energy in District 3 and 35 permits for a 20-inch gas line in Districts 2 and 3 starting 14 miles west and one mile north of Hennessey and extending across western Kingfi sher County to a point 10 miles west of Okarche.

Midship Pipeline Co. received approval for a public access drive about 375 yards south of EW County Road 860 on NS County Road 2860 in District 1.

The Encana permits were for a three-inch line six miles east and two miles south of Omega and two 12-inch lines, one located fi ve miles west and two miles north of Kingfisher and one located three miles west and two miles north of Okarche.

Markwest Energy received permits for four permanent gas lines. a 12-inch steel line and a four-inch steel line both located six miles west and one mile west of Okarche and a 12-inch and four-inch gas line located six miles north and two miles west of Okarche.

Commissioners Jeff Moss, District 1, Ray Alan Shimanek, District 2 and Dobrovolny made all actions unanimous.

County Clerk Jeannie Boevers served as minute clerk and County Engineer Nik Smith provided assistance on pipeline locations.

The agenda included the notice that the courthouse would be closed Tuesday, Dec. 24, and Wednesday, Dec. 25, for the Christmas holiday.
