Courthouse parking lot ready; pre-bid meeting set for Extension office
Kingfisher County commissioners got a 10 a.m start to their weekly meeting Monday, an hour later than the normal time because of an overnight ice storm.
The courthouse did not open until 10 a.m., two hours later than normal in the interest of safety due to slick roads.
The commission meeting lasted only 10 minutes with the following agenda items approved:
• Declaration as surplus the following equipment: 2018 Freightliner truck for District 3; a 2012 Trance air conditioner for general government, a 2007 Chevrolet pickup truck for Omega Fire Department and a Sweeper, purchased in 1965, for District 2.
• Permits for BCE Mach III Midstream Holdings to install 12-inch and 10-inch poly lines four miles west and three miles south of Hennessey in District 2.
• Right-of-way for K&J Construction to lay 12-inch and three-inch pipelines at a point one mile south and six miles east of Dover, District 2.
Chairman Heath Dobrovolny reminded that a pre-bid hearing on the OSU Extension office at the county fairgrounds would be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the construction site.
Commissioners Jeff Moss, District 1, and Ray Shimanek, District 2, were present along with County Clerk Jeannie Boevers as official minute clerk and County Engineer Nik Smith.
The new courthouse parking lot on the site of the old county jail complex was reported complete and ready for traffic, including a new sidewalk leading to the courthouse front entrance.
The recently completed parking lot includes striped parking areas and front-end curbs.
