COVID-19 Risk Level: Back to orange
Kingfisher County’s COVID-19 alert risk was upgraded Friday to moderate, after the number of new daily cases climbed slightly over the last seven days.
With a daily average of new cases now at 16.31 per 100,000 population, the county joins 27 others in the “orange” category.
The state health department’s alert map paints a worse picture for Garfield County, which currently has the fifth highest daily average of new confirmed cases at 24.57 per 100,000.
As of Friday, 167 of Garfield County’s 555 total cases were reported as still active, with 381 recovered. A total of seven deaths have been reported there.
OSDH stats showed 29 active cases in Kingfisher County on Friday, out of a total of 237 confirmed.
Ten active cases are currently reported in Kingfisher (66 confirmed, 56 recovered); 12 in Hennessey (45 confirmed, 33 recovered), and six in Okarche (31 confirmed, 24 recovered).
Three cases also were confirmed in Dover, all currently recovered.
No deaths have been reported in the county or in neighboring Blaine County, which has seven active cases out of a total of 45 reported, and a current daily average of 9.09 new cases per 100,000.
Case counts for other neighboring counties, all currently labeled “yellow,” or low risk, include:
Canadian County: 189 active (1,298 confirmed, nine deaths, 1,100 recovered); 9.63 new case average per 100,000.
Logan County: 43 active (237 confirmed, one death, 193 recovered), 8.33 new case average per 100,000.
Statewide statistics for Friday showed 6,971 active cases out of a total of 46,897 confirmed, with 644 deaths and 39,282 recovered.
