Craun set to preside at state convention for Mothers’ Clubs next month
Hennessey Child Study Club member Shelia Craun will preside at the state Association of Mothers’ Clubs annual convention April 17-18 in Norman.
She has been a member of the Child Study Club for 20 years and held every office in that club, which was organized in 1938.
Craun and her husband, Buck, have two children, Amanda and Aidan.
All are HHS grads.
Child Study Club members discussed plans to attend the convention at their Feb. 20 meeting at the First Christian Church.
President Rhonda Peach opened the meeting leading members in the Lord’s Prayer.
Wanda Choate called roll with 17 members present then read the minutes from the previous meeting.
Members discussed the Mother-Son Dance and Father-Daughter Dance fundraisers held Feb. 7 and 8. Members served finger foods and punch at the event and Beth and Josh Curran took pictures.
The club also collected donations for the Whitten-burg Family for medical expenses.
Teresa Fletcher read the club’s constitution, the state constitution and the state bulletin.
Darlene Caffey and Craun served sandwiches, chips and dessert.
The next meeting is March 5 at 7 p.m.
