Crescent woman injured in head-on collision Thursday

By

A head-on collision late Thursday night left a Crescent woman in serious condition.

Debra L. Eck, 69, suffered head, arm, leg and trunk injuries and was taken to OU Medical Center after the accident that occurred just before midnight about 2 1/4 miles north of Crescent on State Highway 74.

According to a report from the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, Eck was southbound in a 2002 Ford Taurus and was pushing a 2017 Nissan Versa that had run out of gas.

The report said speeds reached 50 miles per hour and caused Eck’s car to lose control and enter the northbound lane where it collided with a 2002 Ford F150 driven by Martha Moore, 54, of Lamont.

Eck was pinned in her vehicle for about 15 minutes before being extricated by the Crescent Fire Department and Logan County Fire Department.

She was taken to the Oklahoma City hospital by Crescent Ambulance District.

Moore was treated for arm, leg and trunk injuries, but released at the scene, according to the report.

Both drivers were wearing seatbelts and airbags deployed in both vehicles, the report said.

Trooper Dustin Carlton of Troop A investigated the accident.
