Dover High School sent seven freshmen to the University of Oklahoma Leadership Academy last Tuesday. The academy provides activities and training experiences that develop and enhance leadership abilities. The students were placed into small groups with 300 other students from schools across Oklahoma. At the end of the day, each group facilitator chose two students that had shown exemplary leadership in their words and actions during all of the activities. These students were honored with either $1000 or $500 scholarship to UCO. Dover’s Wesley Butler was one of the 13 students chosen to receive the $1000 scholarship. [Photo provided]
