Wannamaker Baptist Church of Dover will be celebrating its 130th anniversary with two special services this month.

The services will be held Sunday, Oct. 27, at the church, located at 11974 N. 2930 Road (one mile east of Banner Road on East 700 Road).

The theme of the celebration is “On My Way Home.”

Evangelist Dexter Johnson will be preaching at the first service at 11:30 a.m.

The second service begins at 3 p.m. and will feature Pastor Wendell Prim.

Wannamaker was founded in 1889 and has been serving families in the Dover and surrounding areas ever since.

Larry Fuston has served as the pastor since 2018.

Edmond Rollins was pastor from October 2002 until 2018.

Ministers include Johnson and Reverend Ossie Fuston, Jr.

Frank O. Caldwell is the church’s chairman of the deacon board.

Other deacons are Simon Gracey and Alexander Caldwell.

Matilda Caldwell is the secretary and treasurer.
