Dover meat judging team making strides
Dover FFA’s junior meat judging team recently finished in the top-20 at the Redlands Interscholastic Meet. The junior division is for students in 8th-10th grades. “It is a solid start to a meat judging career,” said Patrick Driskill, Dover ag instructor and FFA adviser. The team also took fourth place at the Northwestern Oklahoma State University contest in Alva a few weeks earlier. “These students have worked hard since Christmas and look forward to working over the summer to continue improving for next year,” Driskill said. Team members include, from left: front row, Orlando Lozano, Pedro Valles and Emri Victor; and back row, Alec Schilde, Gracie Melton and Carlos Flores. [Photo provided]
