Don’t Forget to Vote
Tuesday will be election day in Kingfisher County. Municipal and school district positions will be up for election. Polling will be from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday at normal precinct polling places. Additionally townhall meetings will be held at Loyal (6 p.m.) and Cashion (7 p.m.) to elect officials in those communities. The town of Okarche and city of Piedmont have the only municipal elections involving county voters. Municipal races and candidates include: Okarche›Board of Trustees, Office 1: Michael D. Mendel, Matthew Blackwood. Board of Trustees, Office 3: James Nance, Joe Frisby. › Town Clerk: Dana Reese, Stacey Morgan. Piedmont Mayor: Kurt Mayabb, John Bickerstaff, Bobby Williamson. School board races involving county voters include: Cashion, Office 4: Chuck Kordis, Steve Andrews. Kingfisher, Office 4: Servrina Prim, Charles Walker. Okarche, Office 4: Beth Schieber, Ryan McIlvain. Piedmont, Office 4: Cory Benton, Steven Cox. Canadian Valley Tech Center, Office 1: George C. Fina, Dean Riddell.
Crescent voters also will choose an at-large city council member in a race between David Rider and Marcy Smithson.
Positions to be decided at the Loyal townhall meeting include those held by incumbent mayor John Schlegel, invcumbent trustee Jim Savage and incumbent town treasurer Dorothy Glazier. The meeting will be held at the Lions Club Buildng on Main Street in Loyal.
Positions to be decided at the Cashion townhall meeting, which will be held at the municipal building, include trustee position 1, Brad Stone, incumbent; position 3, vacant, and position 4, Brad Morrissey, incumbent.
