Election secretary encourages mask wearing at the polls

By

With an election coming up at the end of the month, Kingfisher County Election Board Secretary Shawna Butts is urging voters to take precautions in the wake of the global pandemic.

The Centers for Disease Control recommends wearing cloth face coverings in public settings where other social distancing measures are difficult to maintain, especially in areas of significant community-based transmission.

An example would be polling places where lines are expected to form as well as inside polling places.

“Please help slow the spread of COVID-19 by social distancing from other voters and poll workers and by wearing a mask in the voting enclosure,” Butts said.
