Electric coop meeting set
Food, entertainment and prizes are in store for Cimarron Electric Cooperative members who attend the annual meeting Thursday night at the Kingfisher County Fairground Exhibit Building.
Doors open at 5 p.m. and a free barbecue dinner will be served at 5:30 p.m., accompanied with live entertainment from the Jackson Band from Cordell.
Everyone who registers at the meeting will receive gifts, including a $25 bill credit, and those who stay until the completion of the business meeting will be eligible for drawings for additional prizes, Chief Operating Officer Jeff Hyatt said.
The business meeting includes votes on three amendments to the cooperative’s bylaws: extending the campaign period after filing for board seats; prohibiting a current or former employee from serving on the board; prohibiting a current or former board member from working for the cooperative.
“We hope all our members will join us for a great time Thursday night,” Hyatt said.
For faster registration at the door, members are asked to bring their registration cards which were mailed as a second page in their August bill, Hyatt said.
