Emergency management director distributes PPE
City-County Emergency Management Director Steve Loftis advised county commissioners last Monday that he had received and distributed coronavirus-defense supplies to every first responder agency in the county the previous week.
Loftis said he received the supplies April 9 (“More than I expected”).
The supplies included N95 masks, surgical masks, gowns, face shields and gloves.
Loftis said he would continue to make weekly equipment requests as long as the coronavirus pandemic continues.
During the regular portion of the meeting, commissioners approved an agreement with the U.S. Department of Agriculture for the services of a federal trapper for fiscal year 2020-21 at a cost of $2,400, a resolution authorizing the disposal of a surplus 2002 Savin copier for District 1, the adoption of the county cafeteria health insurance plan, an amendment to the Section 125 flexible benefit under the federal CARES Act, monthly appropriations and transfers for county offices for March and a road crossing permit for an OG&E line located three miles west and one mile south of Kingfisher in District 3.
All three county commissioners were present as well as County Clerk Jeannie Boevers, minute clerk, County Engineer Nik Smith, County Pipeline Inspector Cody Murray, Loftis and Sheriff Dennis Banther.
