EMS district gets clean audit report

The Kingfisher Emergency Medical Service District (522) has received a clean audit for the 2019 fiscal year, State Auditor and Inspector Cindy Byrd has announced.

In compliance with state statutes, the following audit procedures were performed:

Determined that receipts were properly deposited and accurately reported in the accounting records.

Determined cash balances were accurately reported in the accounting records.

Determined whether deposits and invested funds were secured by pledged collateral.

Determined that disbursements were properly supported, were made for purposes outlined in [state statutes] and were accurately reported in the accounting records.

Determined that all purchases requiring bids complied with state law.

Determined that payroll expenditures were accurately reported in the accounting records and supporting documentation of leave records was maintained.

• Determined that fixed assets records were properly maintained.

• Determined whether the District’s collections, disbursements, and cash balances for FY 2019 were accurately presented on the estimate of needs.

Byrd wrote at the close of the report:

“Based on our procedures performed, there were no exceptions noted.”

The audit showed that the district had a beginning cash balance of $143, 320.

Total collections of $710,786 included $708,528 in ad valorem taxes and $2,258 in miscellaneous collections.

Total disbursements of $569,175 include $492,399 in contract services, $47,885 in maintenance and operations; $4,647 in audit expense and $4,294 in revaluation expense.

The district ended the fiscal year with a balance of $304,931.

The 522 district provides ambulance service through the Kingfisher Fire Department to residents of the Kingfisher School District and Dover School District and portions of the Okarche and Lomega school districts within Kingfisher County.
