Kingfisher Supt. Jason Sternberger said district-wide enrollment so far this year is 1,531 students, up 12 students from 1,519 reported last year.

Sternberger said enrollment numbers historically increase after Labor Day weekend, accounting for latecomers who may not return to class until after that traditional end-of-summer holiday, peaks in January and then drops off slightly by May.

Kingfisher enrollment by grade breaks down as follows: Three-year-olds – three; pre-k – 96; kindergarten and transitional pre-k – 129; first – 101; second – 83; third – 114; fourth – 98; fifth – 122; sixth – 106; seventh – 116; eighth – 118; freshmen – 99; sophomores – 110; juniors – 108, and seniors – 128.
