EVERYONE ELIGIBLE
Starting Monday, every state resident age 16 and older is eligible to receive a Covid-19 vaccine, the state health department announced last week.
Anyone age 16 and over may receive the Pfizer vaccine, while recipients of the Johnson & Johnson and Moderna vaccines must be age 18 or older.
Appointments can be made through the state health department portal at www.vaccinateok.gov or locally at Medic Pharmacy and Heritage Pharmacy.
Immy Labs is partnering with the state health department to host a mass vaccination site Wednesday, March 31, at the state fairgrounds.
Appointments can be made online at wwwportal.immylabs.com/vaccine.
Several hundred appointment times were still available at press time Friday afternoon at the Immy site.
Vaccination sites also can be located by zip code at www.vaccinefinder.org.
According to the CDC, Oklahoma had administered 1.75 million vaccines as of Friday and 28.6 % of the population had received at least one dose, including 71.8 % of those over age 65.
Other than New Mexico, which leads the nation with 34.5 % of its population vaccinated, Oklahoma is highest among its other neighboring states, according to CDC online statistics.
Other area rates include Kansas, 26.8 %, Colorado, 26.2 %, Missouri, 23.7 %; Arkansas, 23.5 %, and Texas, 22.9 % .
A health department spokesperson reported last week that more than 3,000 doses had been administered by the Kingfisher County Health Department as of March 16.
That number doesn’t include county residents who may have received vaccinations elsewhere.
As of that date, 58.4 % of county residents over age 65 had received at least the first shot and 42 % had received both shots.
For the total county population over age 16, 24.7% had received at least one shot as of March 16 and 13.5 % had received both.
According to online state health department statistics, Kingfisher County currently had 38 active cases as of Thursday, with 2,018 total cases confirmed since the start of the pandemic, 1,953 recovered and 34 deaths, as of Thursday.

Okarche - Nine active cases (253 confirmed, 240 recovered, four deaths).
Omega - No active cases (18 confirmed and all recovered, no deaths).
