Extension hosting barn quilt workshop
The Kingfisher County Extension is hosting a barn quilt workshop later this month.
The workshop will be 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, June 27, at the Kingfisher County Fairgrounds Exhibit Building.
Barn quilts are painted wooden squares that are hung on a barn or house.
Lindy Hoel, Kingfisher County FCS Extension educator, will present the workshop, which includes:
• How to successfully make a barn quilt
• The materials needed
• Combining the right colors to “make a master piece”
• How to register your barn quilt for the Oklahoma Barn Quilt Trail
There is a $20 registration fee due the day of the workshop, which is open to the public.
Boards and materials are covered in the registration fee, but attendees are asked to bring a hair dryer.
Refreshments will be provided, but there will also be a potluck luncheon.
Space is limited. RSVP by June 19 by contacting the Kingfisher County Extension Office at 405-375-3822.
