Extension staging several workshops this month
Kingfisher County Extension is hosting multiple workshops this month:
Arthritis Exercise
This workshop began May 2, but will also feature classes May 9 and May 16. Lindy Hoel, FCS Extension educator, will guide participants through the exercises according to the Arthritis Foundation Exercise Program. The meetings are free and open to the public. They are held at the Kingfisher County Fairgrounds Exhibit Building.
Cake Decorating
This workshop is planned at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 14. Hoel will guide participants through simple techniques in using decorating tips by creating a take home masterpiece. Participants will learn:
• Easy tips for using cake decorating tips
• How to prepare icing, colors and the design
• Create and take home decorated cactus and succulent cupcakes This meeting has a registration of $5 to cover material costs and is open to the public. RSVP by May 13. Refreshments will be provided. This workshop will be held at the Kingfisher County Extension Office.
7 Principles of Healthy Housing
This workshop will be from 2-4 p.m. Thursday, May 16, at the Extension Office. It will detail how to make your home healthier and safer to live in. Hoel will be the presenter. Participants will learn:
• Keeping your home dry, clean, and safe
• Keeping your home contaminant free and pest free
• Getting your home well ventilated and maintained This meeting is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be provided. RSVP by May 15 by contacting the Kingfisher County Extension Office at 405-375-3822.
