Farmerettes elect officers

By

The Hennessey Farmerette Extension Club held its October meeting Oct. 8 at the First Christian Church in Hennessey.

The meeting was called to order by Vice President Lillie Rourke, who led the flag salute.

The devotion, “Devotion Day of Encouragement,” was given by Mary Curry.

Roll call was answered by seven members telling what they do for self-care.

The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved.

Plans for the lessons for 2021 were discussed and forms filled out.

The 2021 dues were paid by all members attending.

The following were elected to serve as officers for the ensuing year: Dot Miller, president; Rourke, vice president; Margie McConnell, secretary and reporter; Jamie Akenhead, treasurer; Susan Engle, parliamentarian; and Billie Melendy and Mary Curry, historians.

The group decided to continue meeting at the church rather than in members’ homes until COVID-19 pandemic is over.

The business portion of the meeting was closed and Engle gave the lesson on homemade spas (lotions, soaps and salts).

She furnished everyone with a bag of Epsom salt, let everyone select the fragrance they preferred, then assisted helping everyone make their own refreshing and relaxing foot treatment preparation.

Refreshments were served.
